Guinevere


The Belgian mezzo soprano Guinevere studied singing with Mrs. Rogist and Mr. Wesemael at the Kunsthumaniora in Ghent.

She obtained a Masters Diploma with distinction specialising in Classical Voice at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Ghent where she studied with Mireille Capelle and Erika Pauwels.

Later she continued her vocal studies privately with Gudrun Bühler in New York.

Guinevere has taken part in Master Classes with Graham Johnson, amongst others.

Guinevere sang at the Vlaamse Opera in Ghent in projects conducted by Dirk Brosse and also performed with the ensemble Arte Vocale.

She regularly gives concerts with guitar player Sarah Vandendriessche, pianist Robert Hendriks and harpist Karen Peeters.

With Marcel Ketels she created a project based on the Cantigas de Santa Maria by Alfonso el Sabio.

These 13th century ballads are considered to be the most beautiful heritage from the Middle Ages.

Guinevere has a lot of experience in chamber music and sings repertoire ranging from the Middle

Ages to contemporary music.

She plays piano and harp and studied cello for 5 years.

She has a lot of experience as a soloist as well as singing in big choirs and chamber choirs.

She composes her own pieces for voice and several instruments.

From 2006 to 2007 Guinevere taught singing at the Music Academy of Ghent.
