On Air
Non stop Peaceful Music

Tron Syversen

Tron Syversen2I am from Norway and live close to Oslo. The last 2 years, I have made much music at my cabin close to the sea and the music for several albums at a monastry in Italy close to Assisi.

I started taking piano lessons at the age of 7 and joined the school band playing trumpet. In 1974 I played in The Kings Guard Band. Today I play trumpet regularly with 2 big bands and piano in a trio. On the piano I have played many genres from classical to jazz. For as long as I remember, I have had musical ideas in my head. Over the years, I have filled many sheets of music paper with melodies and phrases, but it has only been the last 8 to 9 years that I have focused seriously on my ideas.

In 2003, I was presented several poems and asked to put them to music. To create the right mood, I sat at the piano with candlelight. As I listened to a reading of the poems, I played what came into my head and recorded it on my computer. I was very pleased with the result, several of these Pieces have been included in my albums. (Rivers, My Love, Surrender and Prayer).

I have attended courses and seminars in Meditation, including the Silva-method. This has expanded into an interest in the whole world of relaxing music.

Now, new ideas often appear in my mind no matter where I am of what I am doing. I then race to find music paper or access to a piano. I can be especially inspired by beauty or by strong emotional responses, such as moods of sadness or happiness.

My ideas are first arranged on my computer at home or at my cabin. I then write out all instrument parts and hire professional musicians to play them in my studio. Three of my musicians play with “Secret Garden” and one with the Norwegian Opera Orchestra.
